Below is a summary of the procedures, laws and guidelines to obtain a professional business entity license through the NC MFT Licensure Board. PLEASE REFER TO THE BOARD’S WEBSITE FOR EXPLANATIONS OF TYPES OF LICENSES AND OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION.
A verification of licensure may be printed directly from www.ncbmft.org. There is no charge for web verification. Information that is provided includes name, license number, date of original licensure, expiration date, and whether there are any disciplinary actions (public record).

Search by location, issue, treatment orientation, insurance, and more to find a specialist. To find MFTs, add family systems or family/marital to your search criteria (look for “LMFT” in their listing!)
