The MG N-type Magnette is a sports car that was produced by MG from October 1934 to 1936. The car was developed from the K-Type and L-Type but had a new chassis that broke away in design from the simple ladder type used on the earlier cars of the 1930s being wider at the rear than the front and with the body fitted to outriggers off the main frame.
The first N type became designated the NA and was available either as a two seater or four seater open tourer with the usual distinctive slab type petrol tank being disguised behind a very elegant swept tail that incorporated a semi recessed spare wheel.
The N-Type Magnett was the last in a series of small six-cylinder overhead cam light cars produced by the MG Car Company in the mid-1930s. The six-cylinder cars were built in relatively small numbers compared to the less expensive four-cylinder Midgets of the era.

Available as a two- or four-seater open tourer, the N-Type Magnette brought innovation to the MG line when it launched in 1934. A newly designed chassis with side frame rails that widened at the rear allowed for a larger interior, while new rubber bushes between the chassis and body created a smoother ride.
The last of a series of small six-cylinder overhead cam light cars produced by the MG Car Company during the mid-1930s, approximately 745 N-Type Magnettes were built in total which included around 174 of the NA two-seaters and 98 examples of the NB Two-Seaters.
