    1 Οκτ 2024 · My 1969 GT transmission dipstick was VERY difficult to remove. I removed the two, very old O-rings. I replaced the two old O-rings with just one new O-ring. I also attached a substantial "Zip-Tie" to the top loop of the dipstick. Problem solved.

    The MGA (and early MGB) gearbox dipstick has a split pin securing a steel washer securing the felt plug. The felt piece is available as a replacement part (at least in the UK). BMC part number for the dipstick is 1G3802.
