My own personal favorite is Michigan Model Train Center way out west, south of Pinckney on McGregor Road. It's mainly HO and Mike's Train House, with some S scale, some brass, and a decent selection of Digitrax stuff.
11 Μαρ 2008 · Farther west, in Pinckney, is Michigan Model Train Center, but it requires a much greater commitment of time to get there (about an hour each way from Farmington/Livonia).
The other good one I've gone to in the Detroit area is Michigan Model Train Center near Pinckney. The gentleman there is very friendly, he posts decent discounts, and he's got a good selection, especially of Intermountain, Atlas, and other higher-quality HO stock.
I'd go with Fritz's suggestion and make the drive out to Michigan Model Train Center, in Pinckney. Not too far off of I-94 if you take the Baker Road exit then head north about 8 miles. By far the best selection in the area, and most at 20% off retail.
