The MakeCode editor is available as app which you can install on a computer with Windows or Mac OS. Once installed, the MakeCode Offline App lets you create, run, and download your projects to the micro:bit.
Download the program to your local computer as a hex file. Select the link provided with pre-made programs on the microbit.org website to download them, or in MakeCode or the Python Editor, use the Save icon/button:
For Apple devices, enter this link https://www.microbit.org/get-started/user-guide/ble-ios/ with your computer first, and then click **“Download pairing HEX file”**to download the Micro: Bit firmware to a folder or desk, and upload the downloaded firmware to the Micro: Bit main board.
