23 Ιουλ 2019 · Mike Ashley, a former Pro Modified and NHRA U.S. Nationals Funny Car champion, was sentenced last week to three years in federal prison for his role in the 2009 collapse of a $1 billion-a-year mortgage lender.

The former Pro Modified champion-turned-Funny Car driver has had the car to beat at the last three events on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing schedule, and for him having that title is sufficient for now.
Ashley, who clocked the fastest Funny Car speed in NHRA history at 334.32 mph (Las Vegas 1 2007), will compete at the Memphis, Richmond, Las Vegas 2 and Pomona 2 races. He also will race a second MAR dragster on a part-time basis during the 2010 NHRA season.
