I'm pretty sure it wasn't kayfabe he was still legit heated that Awesome left as the champ. I think it was only a year or 2 later that Awesome took his life after that. In an industry where suicide used to be pretty prevalent, I just think it was a down right disgusting thing to say.

Awesome was found dead at around 10:30pm on February 17, 2007 at the age of 42 in the Tampa area.
