In 1994, Slightly Stoopid was formed in Ocean Beach, California by Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, both childhood friends, as well as high school friend and drummer Adam Bausch.
As a musical brotherhood since 1995, Slightly Stoopid, led by the vastly versatile duo of Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, has expanded its fusion of rock, reggae, acoustic soul, hip hop, heavy metal, and punk rock, and achieved artistic freedom and commercial success while subscribing to their own DIY ethos.

By phone, co-founder Miles Doughty recently discussed the band’s longevity, its grass-roots approach, and its foray into the world of cannabis products.
Doughty leads an interesting life outside of Slightly Stoopid as a high school wrestling coach in his eighth season. If you ever want to know what he is doing from November through February he will be working six days a week with the students on the wrestling mat.
