When you get to 50 tasks done, you get a bonus amount of points. If you go to another slayer master, your wilderness slayer progress is still saved so you're good if you feel like switching it up. It does not reset if you switch slayer masters, it resets when you skip a task.
The only better task streak bonus is 1000, which is not worth the extra time when all that's important in the moment is those Smoke Devil and eventually Hydra tasks. If you want the fastest items from both just get your occult through turael skipping, slay to 95, get your hydra stuff through turael skipping and then you're basically done with ...
You also have a bonus at 1000 tasks, so its better to try to keep it going as long as possible. At 1000 tasks it dosent matter from a points perspective, but honestly its just a pride thing at that point.
Slayer Masters now sell the unlock Task Storage for 1000 Slayer reward points, allowing players to store tasks for 50 Slayer reward points. 7 November 2019 (update | poll) Slayer Masters no longer sell the rune pouch for coins, and the Slayer reward points cost has been reduced from 1,250 to 750.
