Creating the world in a legit version of Minecraft (for example 1.20.6), in Creative mode and with cheats enabled and loading back in 3D Shareware 1.34 accepts Creative mode, which you can acess all items, also you can switch back to Survival mode with commands.
I looked at the game files of todays April Fools version of Minecraft and found a suspicious .class file (namely CheatCodes.class). So I opened it (I didn't even have to decompile) and in it was a list of Strings with cheat codes you can enter ingame to get special effects.
