I have PCOS, so I like the benefit of keeping my uterine lining thin since I have never had regular periods. I also want some form of birth control. But tell me about your side effects if you had any. Or, tell me why you like it.

An OCP is more likely to cause symptoms of water retention or weight gain, while an IUD offers the advantage of working directly in the uterus. The other thing to address is that, even if it did cause slight water retention - it wouldn't be 30-40 pounds worth.
I realize that a woman’s body changes a lot between the ages 26 and 31 and I attributed my weight gain to a slowing metabolism. After reading others experiences I’m starting to believe that Mirena is the culprit.
