Misogyny can be expressed in a violent, confrontational manner, in a quiet system of social exclusion or in small, belittling ways disguised as humor. Some misogyny is easy to identify, while other instances of misogyny are more subtle and subversive.
Very simply Misandry is not systemic, misogyny is. You’ll find a tiny tiny number of true misandrists, but many many people (man, women, literally anyone) are misogynists. People won’t know they’re misogynists because that is the status quo, views are just in line with societal values.

Some books—Misogyny, Misandry, and Misanthropy, for one—use it in their titles, as do some articles. But little is out there that explains the concept fully. Both misogyny and misandry are gender-neutral: Misogynists and misandrists can be either men or women.
