11 Μαρ 2023 · Mission Bay Launch Ramps. There are five boat launch ramps in various locations throughout Mission Bay. If you have a large boat, I would suggest South Shores and Dana Landing, as the three other ramps cater more towards jet skis and smaller craft.
San Diego Bay has four boat launching facilities located in convenient sites around the harbor. The boat ramps are four or more lanes wide with ample dock space nearby for boarding. Each boat ramp has an adjoining parking lot designated for vehicles with trailers only.

The best place to launch a boat into the water is Dana Landing Boat Ramp in Mission Bay. Even though it is small with only 4 ramps, it is open 24 hours a day. It is busy but not hectic and rushed-like Shelter Island is or full of noisy hobby planes buzzing around like South Shores Park on Sea World Drive.
It is a small park mainly for boating purposes with a boat ramp and RV Dump. There is a small grassy area with a few picnic tables around the comfort stations. Park Patrons may park their vehicles at South Shores for 72 hours while they are out in their boats, but overnight camping is not allowed.
