25 Νοε 2008 · I have been struggling over this for almost a month, and I found a website called fluteland.co.cc, and their Muramatsu, Miyazawa, and Sankyo flutes are all at least $600 cheaper than the same models sold at the music store I went to.
I just picked the Miyazawa 202 over the Muramatsu EX. It was a close decision. The mechanism on the Muramatsu was smoother, but I felt I got a more consistent full sound in all registers with the Miyazawa.
The salesperson at Flute World said that although the Miyazawa is popular, it is not the best fit for everyone. My conclusion is that it is worth the time and cost of travel to go to a good store with a wide selection and just try a bunch of instruments.

6 Φεβ 2012 · In my case, it was not the most expensive flute I tried, but it was definitely the most comfortable one to play. I agree with getting someone objective to listen to a blind test of both. I liked the tone of both my top two choices, but my listener picked the Miyazawa repeatedly as sounding better.
