Mizan Tefere (also called Mizan-Aman or simply Mizan) is the largest town in South West Ethiopia Peoples' Region and one of four Capital cities of the region. [2] Mizan is also the administrative centre, of the Bench Sheko Zone in the South West Ethiopia Peoples' Region of Ethiopia.

The study was conducted in Mizan-Aman, a town in Ethiopia’s Bench-Sheko Zone in the southwest, which is located 574 km away from the capital city of Addis Ababa. There are five health posts, one health institution, and one teaching hospital in the town.

Methods: This study was a prospective hospital-based cross-sectional analysis of a convenience sample of 1, 000 women who delivered at Mizan-Tepi University Teaching Hospital. Results: Our convenience sample was young (median age 24 years) with a primarily school level or less of education (68.6%).
