Shooting hours for sandhill crane, rail, snipe, ducks, coots, moorhens, mergansers and geese are 1⁄2 hour before sunrise to sunset for the entire season (except during teal season when shooting hours for teal begin at sunrise).

On September 12-13, 2020, waterfowl hunters age 17 and younger, when accompanied by a non-hunting adult (age 18 and older) may take ducks, geese, mergansers, coots and moorhens from ½ hour before sunrise to sunset. Daily limits are the same as the regular duck and September goose seasons. Hunters
Open water hunting: On Lake Pepin, Lake of the Woods, Lake Mille Lacs, and Lake Superior, open water hunting is allowed as long as boats remain anchored. On the Mississippi River south of Hastings, hunting is allowed not more than 100 feet from any shoreline, including islands.
