Our Story. The establishment of the museum came about through a confluence of factors. The V&A Waterfront recognised the significance of its Grain Silo complex as a historic landmark and for years debated possible uses. An art museum was eventually decided upon but a collection was needed.
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is a public non-profit museum in Cape Town, South Africa. Zeitz MOCAA opened on September 22, 2017 [1] as the largest museum of contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. [2] The museum is located in the Silo District at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town.
