The fundamental difference between a mogul and a medium base is their size and typical usage. While the mogul base is designed for larger bulbs used in commercial and industrial settings, the medium base, often referred to as the standard size, is common in household applications.
I got a vintage Colonial Premier floor lamp, and it came with a 3-way mogul socket and a mogul-to-medium adapter that doesn't have 3-way functionality. I want to get it working with medium 3-way bulbs (since I prefer to use LEDs) but apparently 3-way adapters are really rare.
I have a mogul-to-medium adapter but it's not 3-way and I can't seem to find any that are. Though the lamp will work this way with a standard fluorescent bulb, she really would like to keep the 3-way function of the lamp without altering it if possible.
