By the year 1840 there were in what is now Mooresville township at least fifty families. A few of the early pioneers and their immediate descendants, the Hudginses, the McCoskries and Tomlins yet live in the township. Mooresville is a village in western Livingston County, Missouri, United States. The population was 98 at the 2020 census. [4] Mooresville was platted in 1860 by W. B. Moore, and named for him. [5] . A post office called Mooresville has been in operation since 1860. [6] . The village was incorporated in 1874. [7]

Mooresville Township has, from its earliest history, been famous for its bluegrass, much of which is threshed for seed. Until the years of drought, 1934 and 1936, large herds of livestock and poultry were raised.
8 Αυγ 2019 · The area that would develop into the town of Mooresville was originally settled by English, German, and Scotch-Irish families who moved into the area from nearby Rowan County, as well as from Virginia, Pennsylvania and elsewhere, according to a history of the town compiled by the Mooresville Museum.
