In particular the Mercury 'Stitch-o-matic' and 'Dial-o-matic’ models which give every appearance of being a Morse imported machine. The Mercury Dial-o-matic has a model number stamp of R3L - and not long later the Toyota made Morse Super-Dial will wear the model stamp of R5L.
His biggest problem was that none of the other sewing machine companies had thought of it first. The "legal" issue wasn't a blatant disregard for the 'County of origin' laws. It became a re-definition of the intent of the law. Morse was the 'American customer' and (in this case) Toyota was the manufacturer.

I have the manual, new needle, thread proper size, adjusted the timing. What could I be missing?
I'm new to sewing, never used a machine, and need some help finding resources online about how to use, set up, etc. this machine. The manual that it comes with is no help, and everything I've found online has been absolutely useless.
28 Ιαν 2020 · While Morse Fotomatic 4100 has its quirks, it is still a great home sewing machine because it drives fast and makes beautiful buttonholes. It handles light materials well and goes around soft curves and corners easily in spite of not having a free arm (like modern machines).

29 Ιουλ 2009 · I now have 5 Morse machines( I did get rid of one as it arrived too damaged for repair) and have been pleased with them all. I am missing the Super Fotomatic from my little collection of machine history.
