24 Φεβ 2012 · Nice review. Reading it it sounds like the 410 pump is a good choice for your situation. A 12 guage is my first choice but I would have no problem with a 410's stopping power when loaded with buckshot.

410 is.. awkward as a self defense round. As others have said, minimum load for a .410 is a slug... which is less effective than a .45 colt (same diameter though.. so there's that...). If you're set on a shotgun, a 20/16 gauge can be comfortable to shoot and effective.
