The majority of serial numbers are located under the bottom bracket where the two pedal cranks meet. Turn your bike upside down and record the number. If there is no serial number near the cranks, you should check other common places including the front headset or rear stays.
21 Ιαν 2018 · I'm trying to identify the exact year/model of a Motobecane called the "Special Sport", which was bought in France. I don't know if the parts are all original, however: It has a Huret Svelto rear derailleur, but I can't tell what model the Huret front derailleur is.

Motobecane Serial Number Database. 1970 to 1975 Most on the rear dropouts. The model number with year is usually on driver side inside dropout. Example: 64316 is Model 64 or 6416 (Grand Record), The third number 3 designates a frame build year of 1973, Model 62 or 6216 Grand Touring. Model 63 or 6316 Le Champion. Model 64 or 6416 Grand Record.
