But is it just a re-hashed Dominator for a new generation, and will today's youngsters shell out this much cash when less can buy more? Honda is keen to stress one thing about the FMX: it is not a supermoto. Which is confusing, as the styling cues suggest it is.

19 Νοε 2009 · My experience from the saddle suggests that for back-road and city riding the FMX delivers all the real-world benefits of the supermoto format: grunty bursts of acceleration, agile handling from a stance that affords optimal control, strong effective brakes, and enough height to give you a commanding view.
The 640 and 660, who share mostly the same motor and chassis, are also nice, but they have their own drawbacks. The 660 doesn't have an electric starter (very hard to start with the kickstart, it's a finicky motor), and no balancer shaft. The 640 is nice, but it's got a slow-ass carb.
28 Μαρ 2007 · Even a honda XR400 or XR650 will be better than the FMX, which is effectively a tarted up honda dominator, same engine. Even an old clapper such as a KLX650 will still be a good fun bike. I rode Smotobob's back to back with my XR125 and it was rate torquey.
