Mottling: Mottled skin appears as blotchy patches of discoloration, often seen first in the extremities. It occurs due to reduced blood flow to the skin's surface resulting in irregular patterns of pale and discolored areas.

8 Νοε 2022 · Mottled Skin. Mottled skin causes a bluish-red, lace-like pattern under the skin. Also known as livedo reticularis, this condition happens when deoxygenated blood pools beneath the skin’s surface. The condition has many causes, including cold exposure and chronic medical conditions.
Some people's skin looks mottled (has different coloured blotches or patches). On lighter skin tones, these areas might look blue or red. On darker skin tones, these areas might look darker than normal, purple or brownish in colour.
