Livedo reticularis is a common skin finding consisting of a mottled reticulated vascular pattern that appears as a lace-like purplish discoloration of the skin. The discoloration is caused by swelling of the venules owing to obstruction of capillaries by small blood clots.
I just looked up pictures of mottled skin. My legs especially, almost always have these purple or blue lines on them. It's definitely worse in the cold, but it's such a normal thing to me I assumed it was fine.
I get the mottling on my feet combined with neuropathy/ feeling like they've fallen asleep, somewhat often. The neuropathy in my feet and legs is happening more often and getting worse and I'm desperately trying to figure out which Dr/ specialist I see about it.
