Livedo reticularis is a common skin finding consisting of a mottled reticulated vascular pattern that appears as a lace-like purplish discoloration of the skin. The discoloration is caused by swelling of the venules owing to obstruction of capillaries by small blood clots.
I feel that for as long as I can remember, I have experienced mottled skin on my extremities, sometimes on my torso excluding my back. The shades range from deep purple, dark/bright red, white, yellowish.
You have what's medically refered to as "mottled skin", and generally, it's not something to be super concerned by. Slow or poor circulation is often the culprit, but it happens for other reasons as well. Look it up online, but don't assume the worst when you're researching.
