I would say for an open field battle imperial legionaries are the best but if it’s a forest with more cover from arrows I would say strugian heroic linebreakers. Best archers easily the Batanian Fiad champion. Best crossbow. Iirc vlandian and imperial crossbowmen are exactly the same.

The different Battanian Troop trees and units (Green Dots highlight Archer units). For an Archer Heavy faction, I can easily say that there's something missing in their Main Tree.
They're called Variag Kataphracts, they make for effective sword cavalry, comparable to Fang Heavy Cavalry from Harad. I would honestly say that Harad has the best overall troop tree for evil men. Eagle, Lion, Tiger, and Panther guards are all very strong. Edit: Things were wrong
