All were built of stone, brick or concrete walls and house 5 had a thatch, wood or other perishable material for roofing while the others all had slate, iron or tiled roofs.

The Mount Hazel estate in the parish of Ballymacward and barony of Tiaquin, county Galway, passed by marriage to the de Stacpoole family in 1883.
At Mount Hazel they had many interesting mementoes of the family associations with both France and the Papal Court. In 1922 the Duke published a book of reminiscences , “Irish and other Memories”, which moves pleasantly between Russia and Turkey, and old-time London, Rome, and Galway.
23 Δεκ 2009 · The first Ffrench of Moyvilly (the Moyvilly & Mounthazel estate) was Walter Ffrench, who was 2nd son of Robert Ffrench, Mayor of Galway 1582-3 (an ancestor of Ffrench of Castleffrench), 3rd son of John Ffrench, Mayor of Galway 1538-9. He was admitted a law student at the Middle Temple on the 4th May 1582.
