  4. Under the Scheme, you can create an account at the Octopus App or the Subsidy Enquiry Website and register your Octopus or through the Scheme hotline to enquire the detailed transaction record of public transport expenses.

  5. Students who do not already possess a Personalised Octopus have to apply for a Personalised Octopus with "Student Status". If you are a full-time student between the ages of 12 and 25, you may apply for it. Application form will be available on the MTR website in early September.

  6. All Octopus contain a built-in microchip that can communicate with different fare or payment processors. You simply tap your Octopus over the Fare Deducting Readers as you pass through the ticket gates and enter the MTR system. Octopus are available in Adult, Elder, Child and Personalised versions.
