Coordinates: 6°08′06″S 106°48′47″E. The Jakarta History Museum (Indonesian: Museum Sejarah Jakarta), also known as Fatahillah Museum or Batavia Museum, is located in the Old Town (known as Kota Tua) of Jakarta, Indonesia. The building was built in 1710 as the Stadhuis (city hall) of Batavia.
The Jakarta Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics, known locally as ‘ Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik’ is one of the most ideally situated museums in all of the city. It is located in a beautiful colonial building and it occupies the eastern side of Fatahillah Square, right in the heart of Kota Tua , Jakarta.
The National Museum of Indonesia is an archeological, historical, ethnological, and geographical museum located in Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, right on the west side of Merdeka Square.
By August 2014, 16 buildings in Kota Tua have been restored, such as the Kota Post Office buildings (built in 1929), which has been converted into a contemporary art museum. [ 8 ] The revitalization of Kota Tua was aimed to turn the area into a tourist friendly and culinary destination.

The Museum Sejarah Jakarta is the largest and oldest museum in Kota Tua Jakarta, the historical center of the city. It is located in the south side of Fatahillah Square, near other cultural attractions such as the Wayang Museum and the Fine Art and Ceramic Museum.
