The Yan Nyein Aung-class submarine chaser (Project PGG 063), also known as 63m stealth submarine chaser, is the first indigenous stealth submarine chaser class of the Myanmar Navy. 27 Δεκ 2021 · The submarine, formerly with China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), is the first of its class in Myanmar Navy service, and its second ever submarine after commissioning a former Indian Navy Sindhughosh-class (Project 877EKM Kilo-class) submarine UMS Minye Theinkhathu (71) in 2020.
27 Δεκ 2021 · Myanmar commissioned a former People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) Type 35B Ming-class submarine from China last week. The submarine, named "UMS Minye Kyaw Htin" joined the fleet during a ceremony on 24 December 2021 which also marked the 74th Anniversary of the Myanmar Navy.
The Myanmar Navy purchased six missile escort boats and ten submarine chasers from China. Since 1998, the navy has built two 77 m (252 ft 7 in) Anawrahta -class corvettes (771 and 772) and four fast attack craft (551-554).
