Conditions other than PD may have one or more of these symptoms, mimicking Parkinson’s. Listed below are the more common medical conditions that can present with Parkinsonism. There are additional causes of Parkinsonism (not listed below) that your doctor will assess you for.
Parkinson’s Related Diseases & Disorders. Other neurological diseases may cause symptoms similar to Parkinson’s disease. The term Parkinsonism is used to indicate a patient has symptoms similar to Parkinson’s. Approximately 15% of Parkinsonism is due to diseases other than Parkinson’s disease.
