Eurykleia, the old nurse, feels guilty about concealing the journey from Penelope and begs her mistress to pray to Athene for Telemachos' sake. Penelope does, and Athene hears her. (She's got good ears, that goddess.) Meanwhile, down at the docks, the suitors have set sail.
