The compilation of this data is an effort of the Engineering Division of the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) to build a comprehensive geographic database of water utilities and services in the public water system.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Nashville has a total area of 5.7 square miles (14.7 km 2), of which 0.04 square miles (0.1 km 2), or 0.76%, are water. [4] The city is in the valley of Mine Creek, a south-flowing tributary of the Saline and Little rivers.
