District Tournaments. High school students who compete at the district tournament, also referred to as districts, national qualifiers, or quals, are attempting to qualify for a chance to compete at our National Speech & Debate Tournament. The National Tournament is held every June and is the largest academic competition in the world.
Online July 28 – August 9 (final 2 weeks of the 6-week program) Apply Here. Students currently in 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grades who are interested in Policy Debate are eligible to apply. Must be in high school the fall following their participation in the Institute.

A $700 non-refundable tuition deposit will be required within 1 week of receiving your account information to reserve your spot in the Debate Institute. Your remaining tuition will be due May 24, 2024.
Full tuition coverage is rare. On average Financial Aid applicants can expect awards ranging from $150 – $3,000 with an average award of $700. If you are an international student seeking aid, please know that funding is not available every year for international scholarships.
