23 Δεκ 2019 · This article focuses on the three main causes of vaginal discharge in reproductive age women namely, bacterial vaginosis, candidiasis and Trichomonas vaginalis. An overview of vaginal discharge management in all age groups is described and also the rarer condition of desquamated inflammatory vaginitis.
The summary of the systemic review and the recommendations given in this section offer guidance on how to manage people presenting with symptoms of abnormal vaginal discharge. The commonest causes of vaginal discharge are briefly discussed below.
5 Οκτ 2016 · For vaginal infections the vaginal discharge flowchart had a good performance in flowchart 3 with 91.68% of sensitivity; 99.97% specificity; 99.93% PPV and 0.02% who missed their treatment and 8.32% of women who were over treated by the vaginal discharge flowchart.
Recommendations for the management of vaginal discharge. For people with symptom of vaginal discharge, we recommend treatment for N. gonorrhoeae and/or C. trachomatis and/or T. vaginalis on the same visit. We suggest treatment based on the results of quality-assured molecular assays for N. gonorrhoeae and/or C. trachomatis and/or T. vaginalis.
