Learn how to make a football quarterback skills video during and what college coaches are looking for at your position/level. NCSA Senior Recruiting Coaches highlight what football quarterbacks need to include in their skills video, including: How many reps to complete (2-3 per drill) and how long your skills video should be (2-4 minutes max)
A great highlight video is one of the most important things to include in your recruiting profile to garner some serious attention from college coaches. Highlight video vs. skills video. A highlight video is exactly that: Clips of your game footage that highlight your talent and skill.
The best format to send video to a coach is online. NCSA profiles have videos included or you can use a site like YouTube. If you do not have access to digital it is still acceptable to mail a DVD or a USB. Do not use VHS, HI-8 or Mini DV Tape as these are no longer used.
Each video you submit should include skills from every position you list on the Scouting Report. For example: A right-handed pitcher – Pitching. A catcher/shortstop/right-handed pitcher – catching, fielding, hitting, and pitching on one video.
Video Log. A video log consists of the time codes and descriptions of your best highlights, which allows us to identify where you are in the video. Your top plays will then be selected for use on your recruiting profile. Sending this video log will help us complete your video accurately and as quickly as possible.
