At the start of this year, the popular Miners Need Cool Shoes skin editor went offline forever. The site was an archive of over 10 years of skins, as well as sporting an excellent skin editor with layers support, and a great little banner editor.
A couple of months ago, Miners Need Cool Shoes, of needcoolshoes.com, went offline, seemingly for good. The site provided a wonderful little skin editor, with support for layers, and a nice beginner friendly user interface.

19 Οκτ 2023 · Miners Need Cooler Shoes is an easy to use, featureful, and actively developed skin editor. It is a fan-made restoration of the site "needcoolshoes.com". It is a simple web app that runs in the browser, providing a convenient way to edit skins.
30 Οκτ 2023 · For many years, and for many Minecrafters, Miners Need Cool Shoes was the go-to, best, and easiest tool for skin creation and sharing. Unfortunately, however, around January of 2023, the site at needcoolshoes.com would go dark, and, as of the date of writing this, never return.
A few notable features of Need Cooler Shoes: Layers: the old site had them, and this site does too. Core to the editor's functionality. Reference Images: images can be added to the editor, where they will show up as a little window on the site, can be resized, dragged around, and the eyedropper can pick colours from them.
