3 Ιαν 2005 · Dunno if this helps, but with my 2001 model the 5 speed gear knob is easy to get off. Simply remove the boot and press down on the gear knob from above and turn. The gear knob is held in place by a spring which forces the knob up into a bracket holder up internally in the gear knob.
