20 Οκτ 2023 · Before putting it on my primary mask, may I ask if anyone knows there is an up-to-date systematic review on the benefits and disadvantages of using a neoprene mask strap, over rubber strap (comes default for most brands) and others such as rope strap?
In general I am pretty impressed with the mask strap. Pros: The mask works really well for controlling the mask when on the surface. The strap is super comfortable with a hood. Cons: The velcro is sharp on the edges so diving w/o a hood might be an issue. I would recommend buying some tubular nylon to put over the velro.
20 Οκτ 2023 · I like neoprene straps. So much easier to don with or without a hood. I had my mask kicked off my face at 60’ on one OW cert checkout dive. Ease of donning a mask has been a priority ever since.

15 Μαρ 2020 · What About a Silicone or a Neoprene Strap? Many divers seem to find that a neoprene mask strap is much more comfortable. If however, you do not have problems with your strap slipping or have no hair a silicone strap is the better option.

29 Αυγ 2024 · Some of our divers prefer to switch out the stock strap with a neoprene strap that they never have to adjust; others like to slide over a cover; and others just like to leave the strap that came with the mask.
