STIPEND PAY - Commissioned peace officers on Salary Schedule C are entitled to stipend pay for certain levels of skill, education or certifications.
Based on the findings and analysis of the survey conducted by the State Auditor’s Office, this report offers three options for adjusting the salaries in the State’s law enforcement salary schedule (Salary Schedule C): . Option 1 - Align Salary Schedule C with the market average maximum base pay.

The 87th Legislature appropriated salary increases for the State’s law enforcement officers paid in accordance with Salary Schedule C, effective September 1, 2021. As a result, Salary Schedule C has become more competitive, but still may need further adjustments.

The 85th Legislature authorized one salary increase for the State’s law enforcement positions within Salary Schedule C. Law enforcement positions in salary group C3 with 20 or more years of service received an increase of $1,477 from $77,846 to $79,323.
