The Division of Forestry provides natural resource and wildland fire management services to Nevada citizens and visitors to enhance, conserve and protect forest, rangeland and watershed values, endangered plants and other native flora.
The Washoe State Tree Nursery produces plant materials native or adapted to the Great Basin and Sierra Nevada. The state nursery program can produce up to 250,000 plants each year and has experience growing 250 different species.
The Nursery Program's mission is to benefit the welfare of all person residing in the state and Nevada's nursery and landscape industries by monitoring for, intercepting and preventing the spread of pests on nursery stock, as well as ensuring pest-free and viable plant materials are offered for sale to the public.
