Renew Your City of New York Press Card. The PCO is accepting renewal applications through our online system beginning July 5th, 2024 based on the first letter of your last name. Please consult the timetable provided below.
The Press Credentials Office accepts applications for three types of press credentials: A Standard Press Card allows a member of the press to attend multiple events while the Press Card is valid.

Apply for a new Press Card or renew an existing Press Card through the Press Credentials Office. Check the status of an existing Press Card Application including the ability to upload additional supporting media and make modifications if necessary.
Before January 20, 2022, the NYPD issued press credentials. Current NYPD-issued press credentials expire on January 15, 2023, and they will be accepted until expiration. The duty to issue press credentials was transferred from NYPD to the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment on January 20, 2022, pursuant to Local Law 46 of 2021.
A fee of $60.00 paid with a check, money order, or credit card. The fee may vary depending upon the expiration date of your current registration. A check or money order can be made payable to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. By Mail. Use the Application for Custom Plates (PDF) (CP-30).
