2 Νοε 2018 · On November 1, 2018, the Municipal Archives announced that the long-awaited project to digitize the 1940 ‘tax’ photograph collection was complete and all of the 720,000 images now are online in the agency’s photo gallery.
The collection was transferred from the Department of Finance to the New York City Municipal Archives in 1980. The entire collection has been digitized and is available online. The collection can also be viewed on microfilm in the Reference Room, Room 103, at 31 Chambers Street in Manhattan.
3 Μαΐ 2019 · In order to provide the public with a state-of-the-art user experience, the Department of Finance made 4x6 mini-lab prints of the photographs, recorded them frame-by frame using a video camera, and transferred the frames to Laser Video Disks (LVD).
The Department of Records and Information Services preserves and provides public access to historical and contemporary records and information about New York City government. 19 Μαρ 2014 · As with the 1940s tax photos (taken between 1939 and 1941), the 1980s photos (taken between 1983 and 1988) document each and every lot across the five boroughs of New York City. To access the 1940s photos you need to visit the Municipal Archives at 31 Chambers Street.
