Newborn kittens are completely helpless and rely on their mother for all of their needs. In addition to nursing the kittens, the mother will also groom her kittens (this also stimulates the intestines to start functioning). Since the kittens cannot yet regulate their body temperature, they will stay close to their mother to keep them warm.

To provide kittens under the age of eight weeks the nurturing attention necessary for them to heal, learn, mature and grow into medically and behaviourally healthy kittens. • Not only to survive but be thriving kittens and cats
This booklet aims to give you information for your kitten’s first six months of life. This is a very important time — the equivalent of a child’s first 10 years.
21 Μαρ 2024 · As newborns, kittens are defenseless, blind, and fit in the palm of your hand. But by 8 weeks of age, they’re running, playing, and looking like miniature cats. Each week, the kitten will have different needs in terms of feeding, bathroom help, medical support, and warmth.
You will want to chart the kitten™s initial weight, take notes on the kitten™s general appearance, and accurately chart the feeding schedule with the time and amount of formula fed.
Record the weight and progress of each kitten in the Neonatal Kitten Monitoring spreadsheet (or use your own spreadsheet/diary) which can be downloaded from Foster Care Resources on the AWL NSW website.
