Getting to Cape Spear is a 15-minute drive starting from the beginning of Black Head Road. The road is fully paved from beginning to end this direct route will take you to Cape Spear. This is a short drive; many locals and visitors drive via Black Head Road to get here. The road is one lane in each direction.

To get to Cape Spear from St. John’s, head west on Water Street to the intersection at Leslie Street where you'll make a left. Continue over the bridge to the stop sign. Drive straight through the intersection and continue for 15 km where the road eventually becomes Route 11, also known as Cape Spear Drive.
