25 Μαΐ 2021 · New England boasts many fairs — from state, to county, to fairs as large as the “ Big E ” (Eastern States Exposition) and the Fryeburg Fair — they all fall under the agricultural category. For space’s sake, here’s a list of the biggest fairs in each state, but we hope you’ll share your favorite fair in the comments!

It makes for an excellent day trip from Boston or pit stop on a New England road trip. In this guide to the Big E fair in New England, I’ll share the best hotels, parking tips, events to partake in, concerts to scope out, and food to try.
The Big E, formally known as The Eastern States Exposition, is an annual fair in West Springfield, Massachusetts, which opens on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for seventeen days. It is billed as "New England's Great State Fair," the largest agricultural event on the eastern seaboard and the fifth-largest fair in the nation. [2]
