Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. Throughout its history, it has consisted of lead guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger , rhythm guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake , and bassist Mike Kroeger.
Band that has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. Their 2003 song "Someday" reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 at the Canadian Singles Chart. They won the SOCAN International Achievement Award in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2008.
Nickelback formed in the small northern Canadian town of Hanna, Alberta, more than 200 miles northeast of Calgary in the mid-1990s. They began as a cover band, but once an early singer and guitarist left, Chad Kroeger began writing his own songs.

In 1995, Kroeger, Peake, Mike Kroeger, and then-drummer Brandon Kroeger, [12] formed the band Nickelback. Kroeger has continued to record and tour with this band for more than 25 years. In 2001, Kroeger founded the band The Suits XL.
Originally starting as a cover band in the 1990s named “ Village Idiots “, Kroger along with his brother and Peake released their first full length album “ Curb ” (which was later re-released by Roadrunner records in 2002).
Nickelback traces its roots to the small Canadian town of Hanna, population 3,000, in the province of Alberta. It was here that the band's leader and vocalist, Chad Kroeger, grew up with his older brother and bandmate, bassist Mike Kroeger.
