Unemployment benefits provide temporary payments to eligible workers who lose their main job through no fault of their own. You must be able and available to work, and actively look for a job, to receive benefits.
Create a MyNCUIBenefits account to file a claim for unemployment benefits. Once you file your claim, you can sign into your account to file weekly certifications and check your claim status. Learn more about applying for unemployment below.
File a claim for unemployment. Complete your weekly certification. Check your claim status. A personal email address. Your Social Security number. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will need your Alien Number and expiration date. Click on the Create an Online Account link.

Select I am Individual/Claimant… and enter your Social Security number.
You must create an online account to file an application for unemployment insurance online. Your account also provides access to the Claimant Self-Service Portal, where you can get information about your claim at any time.
To file online: Sign in to your MyNCUIBenefits account. Go to the Action Required box and click on File Weekly Certification. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can contact our Customer Call Center at 888-737-0259. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to fully process.
