Just bought the d5000 (salesman did a good job) novice buyer. After reading the reviews I kinda think I should have purchased the canon xsi instead. Salesman raved about the HD video but most reviews say its avg. at best.

16 Απρ 2009 · That being said, both the T1i and the D90 have pentaprism viewfinders, which is a huge advantage over the D5000, which is a pentamirror IIRC. If you're trying to decide between two brands, the best thing to do is go to a store and handle both.
3 Οκτ 2009 · B&H is selling the Nikon D5000 for $720 for the body with 18-55mm lens, and the Canon 1000D for $500 for the body with 18-55mm lens. SO there is a substantial difference in the real price.
